Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will know best if Mauro Icardi would fit into his style at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to ESPN FC pundit and former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner.
Inter Milan frontman Icardi has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days.
Icardi was the second top scorer in Serie A last season, scoring 28 goals in 34 league appearances.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of strikers after a poor start to the campaign from Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.
Morata, though, has started to hit form and has scored four in his last four Premier League outings.
Mariner, though, still reckons Icardi would be an upgrade on the Spain forward.
However, he admits that is whether Sarri sees Icardi fitting in well in west London.
“We’ve banded on about Morata, I think what Chelsea are doing is they are exploring their options,” Mariner said.
“Can they get Icardi? Will they want to sell him? I wouldn’t want to sell him.
“So would it be a good move? I’m not quite sure.
“Sarri knows way better than I do whether he would fit into Chelsea and fit into the Premier League.
“He’s a goalscorer, he puts the ball in the back off the net for fun.
“So, I like Morata, I’ve been banging the drum for him.
“But I’m going to say that would be a good move for Chelsea.”
Icardi has scored 116 goals for Inter in total since joining from Sampdoria in 2013.
He has won just six caps for Argentina though since his debut in the same year.
