Some Arsenal fans believe there are positives in the red card Matteo Guendouzi received against Blackpool on Wednesday, according to Football Fancast.
The Gunners extended their unbeaten run to 13 games after securing a 2-1 victory over Blackpool in the League Cup.
They had sailed into a comfortable 2-0 lead in the second half with Blackpool not getting as much as a shot on goal, before 19-year-old Matteo Guendouzi received his marching orders after a second yellow card.
Following his sending off, the Gunners conceded a goal with the only shot on target they had let in during the game. They held on to secure the victory, but Guendouzi will be suspended for the next game against Liverpool.
Some Arsenal fans are happy with the situation as it’ll force Unai Emery to return Granit Xhaka back to his natural position in midfield.
The Swiss midfielder has been substituting at left back in recent weeks due to injuries to all the first team left backs.
With Ainsley Maitland-Niles back to full fitness he could go back to deputizing at left back while allowing Xhaka move back into central midfield where he is more comfortable.
Guendouzi was one of Unai Emery’s first signings following his arrival at the club, and he has surprised many by working his way into becoming a regular in the first team, playing eight out of the ten premier league games so far this season.
