Barcelona striker Luis Suarez was crucial to the deal that saw Lucas Torreira become an Arsenal player,
according to the Daily Express.

Guendouzi, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Lucas Torreira. However, it
was a player who they missed out on signing, years ago that helped convince the latter to join the
Luis Suarez came very close to moving to the Emirates from Liverpool in 2013 after they had triggered
his release clause with a bid of £40 million plus £1, but Liverpool refused to sell and he moved to
Barcelona a year later for around double that amount.
The striker’s agent Pablo Bentancur has now revealed that Luis Suarez recommendation helped Torreira
