Arsenal target to reject any approach

Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow in their bid to sign Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele after it was
revealed that the player has decided to reject any approach from the Gunners and stay in Barcelona,
according to the Metro.

The French winger has been the subject of a lot of transfer rumors these past few weeks with the
Gunners trying hard to land him.

The 21-year-old who won the World Cup with France this summer, moved to Barcelona from Borussia
Dortmund last summer in a £135 million deal as a replacement for Neymar but failed to make the
desired impact.

He struggled with serious injuries and inconsistency in his first season and has been linked with a move
away from the Camp Nou after Barcelona signed Brazilian winger Malcom from Bordeaux last month.

Earlier this week, reports claimed that Arsenal were preparing a loan bid of around £8.9 million with a
compulsory option to make the move permanent for £80 million next summer, as they are currently
unable to stomp up the cash needed to make a permanent move.

Recent reports now reveal that Dembele has held talks with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu
and has decided to stay at the club for another year.

The Gunners will now have to turn their attention elsewhere for a winger, but would have to offload
some fringe players to finance the deal.
