Arsene Wenger is looking to add a couple of new faces to his squad this summer as he prepares to challenge Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola for the title next season.
Wenger’s only signing this summer is Granit Xhaka from Borussia Mochencgladbach but it appears the French man isn’t done with his transfer business yet.
Wenger revealed last month that he would try to add a couple of new players to his squad this summer as he attempts to win the League title next term.
“We’ve already bought one player – Granit Xhaka – from Monchengladbach, because we’ve lost three players. We’ve lost [Mikel] Arteta, we’ve lost [Tomas] Rosicky and [Mathieu] Flamini,” Wenger said.
“So we’ve bought one midfielder and we’re still in the market to buy one or two more players.
“But it is not easy. It is not just buying. We also have to keep a good balance. If you buy too many players you destabilise your team. So three is the maximum.”
According to the Telegraph via the Metro, Wenger has identified the two positions he wants to strengthen and is hoping to sign a Centre back and a striker this summer.
The club have been linked with a number of strikers and it appears Alexandre Lacazette and Alvaro Morata features in the French man’s wish list.
Wenger has also been linked with the likes of Jeison Murillo and most recently Neven Subotic and he would try to sign one of them to shore up a defense that failed to live up to expectations last season.
