Arsenal transfer target, Mohamed Elneny is reportedly flying in to complete his move from Swiss side FC Basel, according to reports. The Gunners have moved before the January window has even opened to agree a £5 Million fee for defensive midfield Elneny.
The Daily Mirror says he is flying in from his Christmas holiday to complete his move to the Emirates Stadium. The 23 year old was allowed to return to his native Egypt for the holiday period but now he is now jetting in to sign on the dotted line.
Talks are already at an advanced stage and the Gunners hope to be able to confirm the deal shortly. Arsenal have suffered lots of injury worries on their sides with Francis Coquelin, Santi Carzola, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere all out injured.
The Gunners have been linked to Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, FC Porto’s Ruben Neves, Danilo from Porto and Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho, but it is Elneny who is seen as a possible capture in the January transfer window as the other players look to be summer transfer target.
Arsenal would be delighted to add Elneny to his squad as he was only able to add only Petr Cech to his squad last season. They are still in the race for the title but injuries seem to want to deny them a chance at their first Premier League title since 2004.
