Atletico Madrid president Diego Costa has opened the door for a potential reunion with Diego Costa, according to Goal.com.
The striker left the Spanish club for Stamford bridge in 2014 and have had a mix spell at London, enjoying a superb first season while his second season has been disappointing so far with just 5 goals to his name this term.
Costa has been linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid with Chelsea reportedly frustrated with his form and early in December when asked about his future, the striker said he wasn’t going to rule out a move back to Atletico Madrid
However, Atletico Madrid president has now refused to rule out the striker’s return, when asked about a move for the Spaniard, Cerezo said:
“Right now, Diego is a Chelsea player and he has to focus on Chelsea,”
“But you never know what will happen in football and sometimes players do return to their former clubs.”
Costa scored 43 La Liga goals for the Spanish club before moving to the premier league.
However, should the Spaniard continue to perform the way he did against Watford on boxing day, the Blues might just rethink their stand and hold on to the 27 year old.
