Premier league duo Chelsea and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez, according to the Mirror.
The Colombian moved to La Liga last summer but has failed to impress at the Vincete Calderon and is now being linked with a move away from Spain.
The Mirror claims the Blues as well as Tottenham are monitoring the Colombian’s situation and both clubs will go head to head to sign the striker as Diego Simeone is willing to let the striker leave on loan in January.
Martinez has been linked to Chelsea in recent days, the Blues are reportedly open to a swap deal involving the Colombian and Diego Costa, as per the Metro. But with Mauricio Pochettino in search of a recognized centre forward to compete with Harry Kane, the Mirror claims Spurs will swoop for the 29 year old should he be available.
Should Atletico Madrid allow the striker leave on loan, he could serve as a short term option for the Blues to fix their struggling forward line. Diego Costa has failed to live up to the standards he set last season and Loic Remy and Martinez Colombian teammate (Radamel Falcao) have failed to impress at Stamford bridge this season.
Martinez has scored just 3 goals in 12 appearances for Atletico Madrid compared to his over 30 goals for Porto last season.
