Southampton have joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Loic Remy, according to reports.
According to reports, Southampton have inquired about the availability of the Chelsea striker and could offer the French international an escape route out of Stamford bridge.
The Blues are reportedly interested in moving out one of their striker to create space for a new one as they plan to improve their front line options for the second half of the season.
The French striker is not short of offers in the Premier league with Swansea City, Newcastle United, Crystal palace and Aston Villa all interested in the French striker.
Remy has featured in eight league games for the Blues this season but seven of those appearances have come from the bench and with the European Championships around the corner, the striker would prefer to leave Stamford bridge in search of regular playing time.
Remy has a proven goal record in the Premier league and the striker had an average of 1 goal per game for QPR and Newcastle before joining Chelsea in 2014.
