Tottenham have jumped ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign West Brom striker, Saido Berahino, according to Reports.
Chelsea are reportedly in search of a centre forward and new Blues boss Guus Hiddink has set his sight on an English player with Vardy and Berahino reportedly high on his wishlist, as per the Metro.
With Leicester City keen on keeping their star striker Vardy, Chelsea could be left with no other option than to turn to Berahino, but the Blues could be beaten in the race to sign the striker as Tottenham are set to revive their interest in the 22 year old after Cliton Njie suffered an injury that will keep him out of action for a long time, as per the Guardian.
Tottenham were interested in signing the striker last summer after his superb performances last season but West Brom weren’t interested in selling the 22 year old. The striker tried to force a move to White Hart Lane but failed.
With Chelsea struggling to score goals this season, Berahino has emerged as a January taget for Chelsea, as per the Metro.
The Blues could now miss out on the England U21 sttriker with Tottenham set to renew their long standing interest on the striker.
A move to Tottenham could appeal more to the striker, Tottenham are currently in fine form and in the race to claim one of the Champions league spot for next season while Chelsea are currently struggling on the bottom half of the table.
Berahino scored 14 league goals in 38 league games for West Brom last season.
