Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji is set for January exit as Guus Hiddink begins rebuilding job at Stamford Bridge. Besiktas are eyeing January move for Chelsea outcast, according to reports in Turkey.
The Defender has failed to make an impact at Chelsea and reports claim that the Turkish giants are ready to offer him an escape route. The Senegalese moved from Nantes in France to West London for £2.7 Million in the summer. The defender Hs featured just once for the Blues and it’s just for one minute in the league cup against Walsall and its now looking likely to leave Chelsea in January transfer window.
French side, Olympique Marseille have been planning a loan move for Djilobodji who former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho didn’t actually sanction a move for the defender in the first place. The 27 year old has a bit of versatility about him; he could play as a centre back or as a defensive midfielder.
He is a very combative defender as he was ranked fourth in Ligue 1 for clearance in 2014/15, which is 8.3 per game and had an interception rate of 3.3.
A move to Besiktas would help him continue his development as a player as he would be afforded enough playing time since he is surplus to requirement at Stamford Bridge .
