Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Olympique Marseille shot stopper Steve Mandanda, according to reports.
Mandanda is believed to be considering a move to the Premier League, with the goalkeeper looking for a new challenge away from Ligue 1.
According to Talksport, the two Merseyside clubs (Liverpool and Everton) have been alerted over the 30 year Old’s situation while an unnamed club has already made a bid for the vastly experienced goal keeper.
Mandanda is on the last 6 months of his contract with Marseille as he would be a free agent come next summer. Marseille would not want to lose Mandanda on a free and so would be willing to listen to offers for the experienced goalkeeper in the January transfer window.
Liverpool first choice goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet has been criticised for some errors this season and Mandanda would be a good competition for the Belgian goalkeeper.
Everton on the other hand have only Tim Howard as their experienced goalkeeper and needs an experienced shot stopper in the mode of Mandanda to replace Howard as first choice or to be a back- up goalkeeper to the United states of America goalkeeper.
So it’s a battle of the Merseyside’s, to see who will eventually get the French goalkeeper’s signature in January or wait till the summer when he would be a freeFollow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
