Sacked Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho is reported to be interested in taking over the coaching role at Manchester United as his next job. Sources close to the Portuguese tactician have told ESPN FC, and his representatives have already taken initial steps to try and make it happen.
The 52 year old has always wanted to coach the Red Devils, he was touted to be the successor to Sir Alex Ferguson, but some section of the United hierarchy felt the controversies he brings and his football style doesn’t suit United and so the Red Devils settled for Scots man, David Moyes.
Mourinho is one of the best coaches around in the modern day football, he has been a winner in every club he has managed, starting with Portuguese outfit; FC Porto where he won the Portuguese league and the UEFA Champions League, beating United en-route to lifting the trophy, he joined Chelsea and delivered their first Premier League title in 50 years while lifting the FA Cup and Carling cup during his first stint with the club, he joined Italian giants Inter Milan and won the Scudetto and also the UEFA Champions League, beating current United manager Louis Van Gaal’s Bayern Munich before joining Real Madrid, winning the Copa Del Rey and the La Liga title and Spanish Supercopa.
He re-joined Chelsea and won the league in his second season after initially not winning any trophy in the first season.
One thing is for sure, Manchester United needs a coach in the mode of Mourinho, he knows how to bring out the best in players, although sometimes the off field controversies tend to affect his relationship with the players, which was visible at Real Madrid with Iker Casillas.
