Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to reports.
According to the Daily Mirror, Benzema has indicated that he’d be interested in a move out of the Bernabeu and that has alerted Premier league clubs including league champions Chelsea and runner up Manchester City.
The striker is currently embroiled in a bizzare situation which claims the 28 year old conspired to blackmail his France teammate Mathieu Valbuena with a sex tape.
The striker was subsequently suspended from the French national team, as per the BBC but Perez being a fan of the striker has backed the striker throughout the ongoing court case.
However, the Mirror claims the striker is unhappy with the reaction of some of his teammates over the Valbuena sex tape affair and he is now open to a move to the Premier league.
Arsenal was linked with a move to sign the striker last summer but it seems a move to Arsenal has been ruled out after Wenger backed the decision of France Boss Didier Deschamps to suspend him from the national team and also claimed he already has a top striker in Olivier Giroud.
Chelsea are struggling to score goals and have been linked with a host of top strikers and the Blues will now monitor Benzema’s situation in Madrid and could Rival Manchester City for his signature should the Spanish club be interested in selling the 28 years old.
