Former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is close to returning to active football after spending the last six months without a club since he was released by Tottenham last summer, according to reports.
According to the Mirror, Emmanuel Adebayor along with his agent had discussions with three London clubs as the 30 year old tries to find out a suitable club to kick start his career.
The report claims the striker is interested in playing for a club based in London and he has held talks with Chelsea, West Ham and Watford.
However, the Metro claims the striker has been identified as a possible January target by Chelsea and could move to the Stamford bridge club should they find it difficult to lure their top targets.
The Blues need for a centre forward cannot be overemphasized, the Blues attacking force has been poor this season and with the club’s first choice striker who scored 20 goals last season finding the back of the net just thrice this term, the Blues are now set to revamp their strike force.
A band of 3 of Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao looks good on paper but on the pitch they have looked disgraceful. The Blues have been linked with a number of centre forward and a move for Adebayor could well be on the card as he is a free agent.
