Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.
The Red Devils could be leading the chase to sign the striker thanks to Adnan Januzaj’s loan move to the Bundesliga outfit.
According to Manchester Evening News, United might feel they have an advantage over other suitors after loaning the Belgian to Dortmund might have opened a chance to dialogue between the two clubs. The Gabonese international has scored 27 goals in 26 appearances for Dortmund in all competition.
Louis Van Gaal is in dying need of an attacker with pace and creativity and would definitely appreciate an attacker with good goal scoring abilities; something that is missing largely in the Red Devils squad so far this season. Aubameyang has electric pace and is capable of playing on the right side of the wing as he has done in the early part of his career at Dortmund.
He is one of Borussia Dortmund’s most prized asset and so United would have to pay big to land him, a fee in the region of €60 Million should be okay for a striker that is contracted to Dortmund till 2021 and has not stopped scoring this season. He is a prolific goal scorer and United need him and so he won’t come on a cheap.
He could play on the right while Martial play from the left with Wayne Rooney spare heading the attack; this could bring out the best in the United skipper as he won’t be short of supplies; and he could also swap wings with both wide men, making United attack unpredictable and almost unstoppable.
