Liverpool prodigy Yan Dhanda has signed his first professional contract with the Anfield club, according to Daily Mail.

The midfielder recently turned 17 and received the perfect birthday gift as he signed a two and a half year contract keeping him at Anfield until 2018.

The midfielder joined Liverpool from West Brom in 2013 and the Reds paid a compensation fee of £200,000 to the Baggies.

The youngster is best suited as an attacking midfielder and his performances for the Reds U18’s have forced the club to secure the midfielder’s signature.

The midfielder is already training with the clubs first team, he is highly rated at Anfield and the club believes he has everything it takes to make it into the first team in the nearest future,as per report.

In an award ceremony in 2013 where the 17 year old won the up and coming player in Asia, Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre also confirmed that the player is highly rated at the club.

“It’s about finding the best talent regardless of where they come from. You are only going to choose someone and put them in your squad if they can genuinely compete for a place in your first team.

“He is a very talented young man and we hope he will achieve the best he can do.”
