Chelsea are set to spend their way out of trouble in January after sacking Jose Mourinho, according to reports.
According to the Metro, Chelsea are preparing to bid for Shakhtar Dontesk’s Alex Teixera, Everton’s John Stones and PSG’s Marquinhos.
The report claims Chelsea will try to bring in 3 marquee signings in January as the club looks to get their season back on track.
It is believed that the Blues are looking to sign Marquinhos and Stones, two of the best defender’s of their generation along with star midfielder Alex Teixera.
Teixeira is in superb form for Shakhtar this season and has scored 26 goals in as many games for the Ukrainian outfit.
Stones is also doing well at Everton and despite trying to force a move through to Stamford Bridge last summer he has been one of Roberto Martinez best player this season.
Marquinho’s case is slightly different, the Brazilian is finding it difficult to hold on to a first team spot ahead of David Luiz and Thaigo Silva but Chelsea consider him as one of the best defender in his generation.
Chelsea could shell out £80m to fix their defense as it is believed that Stones would command a fee of £45m while Marquinhos is reportedly worth £35m. Further up the pitch, the Blues could part with another £30m to sign Shakhtar’s Alex Teixeira.
The Blues currently sit 15th on the Premier league table having lost 9 of their 17 league games this season.
