Chelsea are interested in signing Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to reports.
According to the Metro, the Blues have already made an attempt to sign the midfielder and have presented an offer to PSG for the services of the Italian.
The Blues are currently struggling and currently sit 15th on the Premier league table after losing 9 games in 17 league matches. And the Blues have identified Marco Verratti as the man to fix the midfield problem.
According to the Metro via Mundo Deportivo, the Blues will try to sign Marco Varratti in a bid to salvage his side’s season.
The report claims PSG could sell the Italian midfielder in an attempt to create space in their squad and also fund the signing of Juventus’ Paul Pogba next summer.
The Blues are set to face a difficult task convincing Verratti to move to England as the 23 year old is not keen on a move to the EPL and would prefer a move back to Italy or Spain, as per Metro.
Juventus, Manchester United and Barcelona are also interested in the deeplying playmaker but the Blues are determined to beat their rivals to the Italian’s signature as they seek a replacement for Cesc Fabregas who has been poor this season.
Verratti is yet to score a goal for PSG in his 16 appearances this term.
