Manchester United have been reported to be looking to secure the services of FC Zurich youngster Nishan Burkart with a deal as good as done, according to reports.
The highly rated Swiss star has cut the eyes of the Old Trafford management and they appear keen to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked to Burkart.
However, United look set to beat the duo to the signature of the star after reports of the Red Devils already holding successful talks with the youngster’s family; with talks of a deal with his current club also in advanced stages.
Burkart is known for his fast attacking array of play and can play as a striker or on the wings and has represented Switzerland at both the Under-15 and Under-16 levels despite being just 15 years of age; he is eligible to sign on scholarship terms from next season.
Louis Van Gaal seems to be building for the future at Manchester United; a future he certainly won’t be part of as he is expected to vacate the reign at Old Trafford at the expiration of his current contract which will run till the end of the 2016/17 season.
Burkart is indeed a player with lots of potentials for the future but what Manchester United need at the moment is a player with pedigree, record and has worldwide recognition, players in the mode of Robert Lewandowski, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Karim Benzema etc. players that could strike fear to the heart of opposition defence.
The Red Devils have already taken a gamble on 19 year old Anthony Martial and the gamble initially was paying off, taking another gamble on a relatively unknown Burkart would be too much to ask for as the team need to start scoring to save their season.
