Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji is set to leave the club on loan in January with Marseille a potential destination for the central defender, according to reports.
According to the Daily Star via Foot Mercato, Marseille head coach Margarita Louis-Dreyfus is interested in signing Djilobodji on loan with the option of a permanent transfer should he impress during the loan spell.
The report also claims Chelsea have indicated they will be willing to let the 28 year old defender leave the club in January after he failed to establish himself at the club.
The defender joined Chelsea as a deadline day signing last summer from Nantes but has since then failed to impress and has just a single appearance for the Blues since joining the club. His only appearance was a one minute cameo after coming off the bench in the Blues victory over Walsall in the Capital One cup back in September.
The Blues are reportedly in search of a centre back in January as the West London club looks to turn their season around after a disastrous start to the season which have seen them ship in 27 goals already and they could move Djilobodji out of the squad in order to create space for a new centre back.
