Manchester United have reportedly enter race to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.
The Red Devils have found goal scoring hard to come by this season, playing out a scoreless draw in 5 of their last 10 games.
According to German outlet via Talksport, United are set to rival French side Paris St Germain and Spanish power house Real Madrid for the Polish hit man’s signature.
According to whoscored.com, Lewandowski has scored 15 times in 15 Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich, that is more than what the entire United forward has scored; Mata is the leading scorer with 4 goals, youngster Martial has 4 Premier league goals while skipper, Wayne Rooney has just 2 league goals, that 5 goals short of what Lewandowski has scored alone for Bayern Munich.
United need a goal poacher in the mode of Lewandowski to boost their chances of silverware this season and qualifying in the top three which is the target given to Van Gaal. The Red Devils have scored just 9 goals in their last 11 matches in all competition; something that is of great concern at Old Trafford.
Bayern Munich would not allow the Polish striker leave in the January transfer, not even in the summer, as he is one of their most prized assets.
United should take a gamble and go for Queens Park Rangers Charlie Austin who scored 18 times last season in the Premier League before QPR were relegated, he would come in cheap judging from the fact that his contract expires in the summer, he would be a bargain and would help United in the league and Europa league as he is not cup-tied coupled with the fact that he has enough EPL experience.
