Reports states that Chelsea are prepare to place a bid of £40 Million for Everton England defender John Stones during the January transfer window.
The Blues made several attempts to lure the young defender to Stamford Bridge during the summer but faced stiff resilience by the Everton board who refused to sell the defender to Chelsea. The Blues later faced Everton at Goodison Park where the Merseyside base club won 3-0 with Stones putting up an impressive performance.
The Daily Express now claims that Chelsea are determined to try again for Stones this winter, with a £40 Million offer being prepared for early January. Chelsea defence has being shambolic this season, the blues have already conceded more than they did in the entire league games last season; due to the poor defensive showing from the back four.
Stones would be a key acquisition for Chelsea but it would take a bid higer than 340 Million for Everton to sit down and do business for the players transfer.
Chelsea are not the only team bidding for Stones with Manchester United reportedly set to bid £50 Million for Stones and another £50 Million for former Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku in a £!00 Million double swoop. It will be interesting to see how the transfer saga unfolds
