Liverpool have moved a step closer to signing Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev as the winger has decided to quit Real Madrid when the winter transfer window opens next month, according to the Metro.
Last week, it was reported by the Metro via Fichajes that Real Madrid and Liverpool will discuss a move for the winger before the January transfer window.
The Metro via the same Spanish Outlet now claims Liverpool have received a huge boost in the race to sign the winger, it is claimed that the 24 year old has decided to quit Real Madrid in January due to lack of playing time.
The winger was linked with a move to Anfield last summer after a superb season at Villareal but Real Madrid decided to keep the player. However, the winger has featured just six times for Rafa Benitez men this season and he is desperate to play regular football in order to secure his place in the Russia team heading to the Euro championship next summer.
Liverpool are in need of a true winger with Jordan ibe the only winger in the squad since Raheem Sterling left for Manchester city.
