Manchester United are preparing to table a bid for Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans in the January transfer window, according to the Mirror.
Report claims the Old Trafford club sent scouts to watch the £30m rated midfielder on Thursday when he played for his side against Qarabag in the Europa league and the Mirror claims Manchester United could follow it up with an official bid next month.
The Old Trafford club have been monitoring the midfielder for over a year and the club’s hierarchy are impressed with the player’s performances, according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Everton and Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on the 18 year old. Manchester United will have to fight competition from these clubs. However, Tielemans has already agreed to leave Anderlecht at the end of this current campaign, according to Belgium newspaper HLN.
In October, the Daily Star claimed Manchester United wants Tielemans as a long term replacement for Micheal Carrick, 34, who is gradually approaching the twilight of his career.
The midfielder is currently having a superb season with Anderlecht.
The 18 year old has scored three goals in Belgium league this season. He was recently called up into Belgium’s squad for the Euro 2016 championship and could be part of the final 23 players heading to France next summer.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
