Liverpool have made contact with the representatives of Brazilian star Lucas Moura over a potential January switch, according to the Metro.
The Brazilian winger, 23, is seen by Red boss Klopp as a necessary addition to the first team at Anfield with 19 year old Jordan Ibe the only natural winger in the senior squad.
Jürgen Klopp is however not a big fan of the January transfer window. Only three weeks ago he said:
“The January transfer window is not the perfect one because you have no time to train. You pick a player, put him on the pitch and say, ‘Come on, show your best performance’. But if we need, we will do [transfers]. No problem.”
The Reds, who are beginning to struggle for goals didn’t score in their last 2 matches prior to their game against West Brom are in need of some reinforcement.
The over reliance on Phillipe Coutinho as shown with their lack of creativity recently displayed in their Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Newcastle showed that additions are still needed.
It is widely believed in France that the player who has made just 90 appearances since his €45million move three years ago from Sao Paulo would jump at the chance to move to Liverpool having seen his chances of regular football further limited by the signing of Angel Di Maria in the summer, via Metro.
Joining Liverpool’s Brazilian contingent of Lucas, Coutinho, Firmino and Allen would see him settle in rather easily while an attacking midfield three of him, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino would be more than a handful for Premier league defences.
