Manchester United are planning to submit a £50m transfer bid for Everton’s John Stones, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims Manchester United are interested in signing the England defender for £50m, a fee that would eclipse the £45million Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay for the defender.
The report also claims Manchester United have made the defender their priority target and are ready to beat Chelsea to the defender’s signature whether Louis Van Gaal remains in charge of the club next summer or not.
Van Gaal has been made to cope with injuries to his defense line and the Old Trafford club is determined to fix the issue with John Stones next summer.
Chelsea are reportedly still keen on the defender and the West London club are expected to return for the defender next month or in the summer as the club look for a long term replacement for John Terry.
The Blues had three bids rejected for the 21 year old last summer. The Blues currently sit 2 points above the relegation zone and have one of the poorest defense in the league this season.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez is adamant that the defender is not for sale but the Merseyside club will find it difficult to hold on to their prized asset next summer.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
