Patrick Bamford could be moving to Middlesbrough in January after it was revealed that the player would be welcomed at the Teeside, via London24.
The England international had a wonderful season last year at Middlesbrough and scored 19 goals for the Championship side and subsequently won the Championship player of the year award. He then joined Crystal Palace on loan for the entire campaign but the 22 year old has struggled for game time in Crystal Palace.
It’s been reported that Chelsea will look into the prospect of recalling the player back from Palace in January. Middlesbrough Boss Airtor Karaka has now said he would be open to the idea of bringing the player back to Teeside on loan should he be available.
“I think it’s understandable that he is linked with us because he was really successful last season here,” he told the Teeside Gazette.
“Everybody has a good relationship with him at this club. I have always said the door is open to him, I have a good relationship with him and we will try to make the best decision for everybody.”
The striker who has been used by Alan Pardew sparingly this term despite the club’s striker crisis revealed earlier in the season that there is a clause in his loan contract that will enable him leave Palace in January.
