Manchester United Skipper; Wayne Rooney is reportedly attracting interest from the Chinese League. It is suggested that Rooney is set to become the new face of Chinese football. Rooney has been heavily criticised by many football analyst and pundits for his poor run of form judging from the heavy pay he receives at Old Trafford.
It is even suggested that some of the England fans are suggesting that Rooney should be dropped from the squad going to the European Championship in 2016 hosted by France. The Red Devil’s skipper has scored just 2 league goals so far this term, with the 30 year old struggling in front of goal.
Rooney currently has over 3 years left in his contract and it is highly unlikely that the United hierarchy would be offering an extension to that contract except the striker’s fortune in front of goal improves immensely.
According to the Sun; it is reported that Chinese football has been flooded with cash after signing a huge TV deal worth more than £830 Million and the Chinese Soccer League want a world superstar to sign up, knowing that would tempt other top names to follow suit.
Former England boss; Sven Goran Eriksson is already a club coach in China while former Premier League players like Momo Sissoko of Liverpool, Former Everton Striker Tim Cahill, Chelsea flop Demba Ba and Brazilian superstar Robinho who also played for Manchester City in the EPL are all plying their trade in the Chinese league.
It is not yet known if Rooney would consider moving to Asia at this stage of his career, neither is it an official bid being put in place, one thing is certain, Rooney needs to start delivering the goals that United need at this point in time as the fans won’t stay quiet if the drought continuesFollow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
