Chelsea are set to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic £300,000-a-week to join the club as early as January according to report. The Blues have struggled for goal this season and with speculation surrounding the future of Diego Costa; a striker could be on the cards at Stamford Bridge.
Zlatan is the most expensive player in the history of the game not in terms of a single transfer fee but when you collate his total transfer fee from all clubs he has moved to. The 34 years old moved from Malmo FF to Ajax Amsterdam for €8.7 Million in 2001, in 2004 he joined Juventus for €16 Million; in 2006 Zlatan joined Inter Milan for €24.8 Million and in 2009 Spanish Giants paid €46 Million for the Swede plus exchange for Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o who was valued at €20 Million, making the deal to rise to €66 Million and an additional €3.8 Million for other fees; Zlatan moved to AC Milan on loan for the 2010/11 season before making the deal permanent for €24 Million, in 2012 the big Swede joined French side PSG for €20 Million bringing his total transfer fee to €180 Million; making him the most expensive player in total transfer fee.
The 34 years old is a winner with every club he has played for, and would be a wonderful addition to the Blues. Chelsea would be facing competition from United for the striker’s signature. Both EPL teams can match or even give Zlatan a better pay package than what PSG are currently offering him; but the greatest challenge is that Zlatan has a big ego and so does the two coaches (Mourinho & Van Gaal) hindering potential clubs willingness to sign him.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
