Jose Mourinho has reignited the feud between himself and Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas, according to Standard Sport.
The Chelsea manager worked with the Spanish keeper at Real Madrid but the duo fell out towards the end of the Portuguese reign at Madrid. Mourinho dropped Casillas from first choice during his time at Real Madrid and chose Diego Lopez ahead of him.
After the crisis in Madrid’s dressing room, Mourinho fell out with many of his players over how he treated Casillas, he then moved to Chelsea in 2013 and Casillas moved to FC Porto last summer.
Casillas and Mourinho were reunited when the Champions league draw placed FC Porto and Chelsea in the same UCL group in August.
Although the Spanish goalkeeper frustrated Mourinho’s men in Porto in October, it was the Portuguese who had the last laugh after dumping Casillas’ Porto out of the UCL.
When asked about his relationship with the goalkeeper last night, Mourinho couldn’t resist aiming a dig at the Former Real Madrid captain. He told Spanish media outlet Mega:
“No problem. I’ve done my job and he has done his, and he has done well. “Now Casillas can win the only trophy he hasn’t won. The Europa League.”
Iker Casillas worked with Mourinho from 2010 until 2013 when the Portuguese left the club for England.
