Manchester United target Nicolas Gaitan has agreed a new contract with Benfica, according to the club’s official website.
The midfielder was linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer following the departure of Angel Di Maria to PSG but the move failed to Materialize.
However, the Player has confirmed that he has signed a new deal with the Portuguese club and he is very excited to do so.
The players release clause was also increased from £25m to £35m in the new contract, according to Abola.

When asked about his new contract, he said:
“This renewal is fantastic. It’s a vote of confidence from the club, and I’m delighted,” he told Benfica’s TV channel.
“It was a quick and easy decision. Both parties are happy. I’m very happy at Benfica; they’re one of Europe’s top clubs.”
Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal stated earlier in the season that he is looking to add creativity and speed to his squad.
Gaitan along with Atletico Madrid’s Greizmann has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in January but Gaitan’s new deal at Benfica is not expected to block any potential move to Old Trafford.
When asked about a possible switch, the player stated:
“The topic of leaving is expected when the market opens,”
“It would have to be something extremely good to take me away from here because I’m happy at Lisbon”- he explained.
