Chelsea striker Diego Costa has refused to rule out a move back to Atletico Madrid, according to reports.
The striker moved to Chelsea from the Spanish club in the summer of 2014 and went on to be an important member of Jose Mourinho’s side in his first season in England.
Despite his injuries and disciplinary punishments in his first season, the striker scored 20 league goals for Chelsea as the Blues went on to lift the Barclays Premier league and Capital One Cup last season.
However his form this term has taken a downturn and he has only scored 4 goals for Chelsea this term.
Reports claim Chelsea are looking to sell the 27 year old in order to create space in their squad for a top striker next summer, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid were said to be monitoring the striker’s situation.
But according to Marca, the player is only open to the move back to Atletico.
When asked about speculations concerning his future and a possible return to Atletico Madrid, Costa said:
‘You never know if I will return to Atletico’
‘Life always takes many turns, Look where Filipe Luis is’ The truth is that I wish him well at Atletico, and I always keep supporting them from afar.”
Costa scored 36 goals in 52 appearances for Atletico Madrid in his last season at the club before completing a £32million move to Chelsea.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
