Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea target and Red Star Belgrade midefielder Marko Grujic, according to Serbia publication Zurnal.

According to reports, Liverpool had scouts present in Belgrade 7-2 win over Cukaricki on Sunday, the scouts were there to watch Grujic and the midfielder impressed with a wonderful display for his team.

The reports claims Liverpool representatives had talks with the midfielder after the game and the Merseyside club is set to follow up with a formal bid in other to bring the midfielder to England in January.

As much as six clubs which includes Inter Milan, Everton, Chelsea, Celtic, Paris Saint Germain and Roma are reportedly interested in the 19 year old. Chelsea have reportedly watched the midfielder on several occasions and it was thought the Blues will table an official bid for the midfielder.

However, Goal understands that Inter Milan are favourites to sign the Serbian midfielder.

It is believed that Red Star Belgrade wants a bid of at least £5million for the player before they will begin discussions with interested clubs.

Should the Reds win the race to sign the 19 year old, Goal claims they will most likely allow the midfielder remain at his current club on loan until the end of the season.

The midfielder has scored 5 league goals in 29 appearances since breaking into the Belgrade first team in 2013, of which he has scored all the 5 goals this season. The midfielder is currently having a wonderful season at Belgrade.
