Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing a striker in the January transfer window and has earmarked either of Gonzalo Higuain or Emmanuel Adebayor to join him at Stamford Bridge in January, according to the Metro.
The Blues are currently having a dismal campaign after winning the Premier league and Capital One cup last season, the club’s strikers are struggling to score goals and it is believed that Mourinho will try to improve his front line when the winter transfer window opens next month.
According to the Metro, the Portuguese tactician wants to bring in a striker he worked with at Real Madrid. It is claimed that the manager prefers either of Higuain or Adebayor to join him at Stamford bridge as opposed to other names linked to the club.
Emmanuel Adebayor has been without a club since last summer and the Togolese is interested in finding a new club in January and Mourinho knows that the 31 year old is available on a free. However, Higuain is currently in superb form in Italy and Mourinho believes if he is to spend the cash on a striker, it should be a big signing like Higuain.
The Blues current strikers have four league goals between them this season and Mourinho will be hoping to solve the problem in the January transfer window.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
