Manchester United are ready to give Pep Guardiola a swerve to stick with Louis Van Gaal. The Daily Star Sunday says Guardiola will quit Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
United are aware of Guardiola’s situation but they will leave Manchester City to sign the former Barcelona handler as Manuel Pelligrini’s successor. United intend to allow Louis Van Gaal run out the final year of his contract as the United hierarchy believes the Dutchman is capable to turning United’s fortune if given support.
United may live to rule this missed opportunity to sign Guardiola now because it’s hard to see the Spaniard staying too long out of the job with clubs around jostling for his services. Chelsea may look to secure his services with Mourinho’s job hanging by the thread and Manuel Pelligrini constantly linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium.
At the end of Louis Van Gaal contract, it’s highly unlikely if the Dutchman would sign an extension, meaning the Red Devils would be looking for a replacement. Guardiola would want job security and no club between Chelsea and Man city can offer him that than at United. United should sign Pep Guardiola at the end of this season and offer Louis van Gaal pay- off and early retirement.
A new era could be established at Old Trafford in no time, with United financial capabilities marching Guardiola’s coaching expertise; this is indeed a ‘’marriage made in heaven.’’
