Liverpool’s Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno has become a transfer target for La Liga giants Real Madrid, according to the player’s agent Javier Moya.
Moreno, 23, signed for Liverpool in 2014 from Spanish side Sevilla in a £12 Million deal after progressing through the youth ranks in Sevilla and was part of the squad that lifted UEFA Europa League Cup in the 2013/14 season.
The player had a fantastic start to his career at Anfield before being frustrated by Brendan Rogers in his second season, losing out to Joe Gomez in the starting line- up. But Moreno has gone on to become a first choice under Jürgen Klopp; a move that was helped by the long term injury suffered by team mate Joe Gomez, and Moreno has seized the opportunity to put in eye catching performances in a much improved Liverpool defence, this is caught the attention of Real Madrid.
Madrid are short of options at the Left back position, with first choice left back; Marcelo missing majority of games with injuries and Portuguese defender Coentrao also suffering the same fate. The Bernabue outfit would be desperate to sign Moreno who is Spanish defender with pace, skills and loves joining up in the attack, something similar to Barcelona’s Jordi Alba.
Liverpool would most likely retain the services of Moreno this season as it is highly unlikely that Klopp would sanction a deal for the player in the January Transfer window, but Real Madrid would come with offers in the summer and Moreno would most likely leave.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
