Pep Guardiola will not be joining Manchester United anytime soon according to reports.
Daily Express journalist John Richardson said on Sky Sports Sunday supplement program that United had been asked if the Spaniard would be heading to Old Trafford when his contract with Bayern Munich expires.
But the Mail on Sunday says Guardiola would favour taking charge at Manchester United over any other club. The Red Devils boss Louis Van Gaal has been subject of pressure due to United’s dull performances and inability to score goals in games. United Legends in Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane etc. have all been vocal about how poorly United attack has been under the Dutchman.
United offered Louis Van Gaal a three year contract and they expect the Dutch man to still be in charge next season even though they are not expecting Van Gaal to extend his contract beyond the initial three years he signed. Pep Guardiola’s contract with Bayern Munich would expire at the summer of 2016 meaning the former Barcelona coach would be out of job while Van Gaal would be running his last year down.
Except if there is an unexpected twist to the tail, Guardiola isn’t expected to stay out of coaching for long when many clubs will be willing to have him as their manager.
United will either have to offer Guardiola a pre-contract or risk losing out on him totally then begin a search for a new coach once Van Gaal vacates the hot seat at the expiration of his contract.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
