Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is eyeing a reunion with Kevin Grosskreutz by pursuing the transfer of the Galatasaray star, report says.
The German boss wants to save his compatriot, who played under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, from his Turkish nightmare. Grosskreutz has been unable to play for the Turkish giants since he moved over there in August, his papers were not submitted by the club in time to complete an August transfer and he has been left in limbo.
Grosskreutz is yet to settle in in Turkey and he is keen on a move away, and Klopp is ready to save the versatile star by making him his first Liverpool signing. Grosskreutz moved to Turkey for £1.5M fee, would be able to provide cover in a number of positions in defence and midfield and his salary would fit into the Anfield club’s payment structure while providing Liverpool with insurance during a heavy fixture schedule in the second half of the season.
The 27 years old is built for the Premier League, he has the height, playing style and physical presence requires to survive in the English Premier League.
