Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to sign Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri.
The player is reportedly high on Jose Mourinho wish list and it is believed that the Portuguese will make a move to sign the Argentine striker in January.
However, the Blues are not alone in the race to sign the striker with Stoke City, Brighton and Inter Milan reportedly interested in the striker.
According to Tuttosport via Sport Witness, the player was recently in Italy and he is currently processing his paper work and an Italian passport.
It was also claimed that the paper work will take a long time to be processed ruling out Inter Milan from making a move for the striker in the winter transfer window.
The same paper reports that there is a possibility that Inter Milan’s sporting director Pierro Ausilio met with the player during his visit to Italy to discuss a future move to the Serie A, the San Siro giants will not be able to sign the player by themselves because of a restriction in the number of home grown players a Serie A club can sign but Roberto Mancini’s men reportedly want to use another Serie A club to sign the striker to enable the striker get used to the league before switching to Inter.
Chelsea will be monitoring developments regarding the striker’s future and would surely pounce when they get the opportunity.
