Another chanced missed to climb further in the English Premier League table after dropping 2 points at home to Westham. Here is how the players fared:
GOALKEEPER: David Degea (6.5)
The Spaniard did go down brilliantly to keep out Victor Moses attempt to score; he had good command of his area but had the woodwork to thank as the hammers hit the goal post on two occasion in the first half.
RIGHT BACK: Paddy McNair (5.0)
Had a poor showing at right back and his crosses where poor, had to be substituted at half time
LEFT BACK: Matteo Darmian (6.5)
Supported the attack occasionally and won some important tackle. He still needs to show the qualities we know he possesses.
CENTRAL DEFENCE: Chris Smalling (7.0), Daley Blind (6.5)
Smalling did nothing new than to put in his best for the team as always, he handled the threat posed by Andy Carroll aerially and physically. Blind loves going forward and was almost caught off position. But he did well with his crosses for United.
CENTRAL MIDFIELD: Bastian Schweinsteiger (7.0), Morgan Schneiderlin (5.0)
Bastian was United engine room in the game, bursting with energy and working tirelessly for the team, should have stayed till the end of the game as he was capable of coming out with one moment of magic when the Hammers were under constant siege in the closing moments of the game. Still waiting to see Schneiderlin stamp his authority on games like he does while at Southampton, had to leave the game injured before he could have any meaningful contribution.
ATTACKING MIDFIELD: Juan Mata (6.0)
Was played in the No 10 position and tried too hard to carve out an opening but failed to manage that.
ATTACKING MIDFIELD: Jesse Lingard (6.0)
Was full of running but created no meaningful scoring opportunity. Had a glorious chance to score but flashed his half volley wide of the post.
ATTACKING MIDFIELD: Marouane Fellaini (6.0)
The Belgian had the best chance for United to score but fluffed it and Adrian saved comfortably. He held possession well for United.
FORWARD: Anthony Martial (6.0)
Was presented with a golden opportunity to score when Depay dribbled into the Westham box to lay off for Martial to finish off; the French man shot wide. One would have wondered if it was the same Martial that scored half chances in his first few games for United.
Michael Carrick (5.0)
Guillermo Varela (5.5)
Memphis Depay (6.5)
