The Mexican returned home after spending half a decade in Europe. He joined Chelsea in 2011 and failed to make a single appearance for the Blues in his 5 years at the club.

Santos Laguna has now confirmed that the player has returned to his home land in a three year deal and will begin training with his new teammates next week when they return for the second half of the league campaign (2016 Clausura).

In his time at Chelsea, Davilla had loan spells in the Eredivisie with Vitesse, in Liga Adelante with Sabadell, Cordoba and Tenerife. In January, the midfielder ended his loan with Tenerife and moved to Portuguese side Vitoria Setubal on loan for the rest of the 2014/2015 season.

The midfielder wasn’t sent on loan at the beginning of this season and has now returned to his homeland to kickstart his career.

Davilla was the first Mexican to sign for Chelsea.
