AS Roma are interested in signing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports.
The Italian Outfit are keen to sign the defender who is struggling to retain a starting spot at Anfield for the rest of the season with a view of making the deal permanent.
The defender wants to leave Anfield in search of regular playing time as he hopes to impress France manager Didier Deschamps to pick him among the les Bleus squad for next summer European championship.
Corriello dello Sport reports that the 25 year old could be heading out of Anfield with Roma a possible destination for the defender.
The Serie A club are also interested in making the loan deal permanent for a fee of about £12.6million at end of the current season.
The Centre back was a target of Roma’s rival Lazio last summer, the Italian club were interested in taking the 25 year old on loan but Rodgers opted not to let the defender leave. Lazio could as well rival Roma for the defender’s signature should he be available in January.
Sakho has played just six league games this term, he joined liverpool from Paris Saint Germain in 2013.
