Costa & Courtois START! – Chelsea STARTING XI vs AFC Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho made three alterations for the trip to White Hart Lane, with Gary Cahill coming in for the injured John Terry, while Cesar Azpilicueta was recalled at left-back in place of Kenedy.

The final change saw Oscar come in for Diego Costa with Eden Hazard deployed as the “false nine”. After a clean sheet last time out, Mourinho is unlikely to alter his back-four, with Terry still sidelined due to an ankle injury.

Diego Costa will be pushing for a swift return, which could see Hazard revert to a more familiar left-wing role. Loic Remy offers another option to lead the line, though Radamel Falcao is still unavailable.

Hazard and Willian look likely starters in attack, so Pedro or Oscar may have to make way should the Blues boss deploy a more recognised striker. Cesc Fabregas has started alongside Nemanja Matic in each of the last three matches, and the pair should again feature alongside each other against the Cherries.

Matic will wear a protective mask to cover a fractured nose. Ramires remains out with a muscle problem, with John Obi Mikel offering another option at the base of midfield.

Thibaut Courtois is back in training after a knee injury, and could displace Asmir Begovic between the sticks as early as this weekend.
