Lazio wants to sign Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji on loan when the transfer window opens in January.
The centre back was a deadline day signing for the Blues last summer after Jose Mourinho failed in his attempt to lure John Stones to West London.
The defender has made just one substitute appearance for Chelsea this term which came against Walsall in the Capital One Cup earlier this season. The defender who recently turned 27 was an unused substitute against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The defender could be given an escape route out of West London and the chance to play regular football by Lazio who are reportedly keen on the 27 year old services, according to the Daily mail.
The defender moved from Nantes last summer and his impressive performances in Nantes caused Chelsea’s scout to sign the defender despite it being against the wish of club boss Mourinho.
Last season, Djilobodji won 61% of his duels, 75% of his ariel duels and had a pass accuracy of 76%.
The defender has not been lucky with his move to West London as he is behind John Terry, Kurt Zouma, Gary Cahill in the club’s pecking order.
