Chelsea vs AFC Bournemouth: 4 Things Mourinho MUST Do To BEAT Bournemouth

The Blues face newly promoted side AFC Bournemouth on Saturday evening, we take a look at four things Mourinho and his men must do to claim all three points.

Return Diego Costa to the Starting xi

The striker has been in poor form this season and was subsequently dropped against Tottenham last weekend with Eden Hazard taking his place upfront. The Belgian did well against Tottenham but in games against smaller teams, playing without a recognized striker will be suicidal.

Although Costa’s movement in recent games have been poor but he could be crucial like the game against Norwich where he was poor in more than three quarter of his time on the pitch but still got a goal to his name. The Blues will do well with Costa’s strength and Hard work against Bournemouth.

Play with Aggression

The game against Tottenham was considered one of the team’s best peformance this term. Mourinho’s men defended aggressively and attacked with intent against Tottenham, the Blues might be facing a smaller team this time around but a performance like the one displayed against Tottenham should be the least the players can offer against Bournemouth.

Drop Cesc Fabregas

The Spaniard has been in poor form this season,  against Tottenham, he was so frustrating that rival fans had to make a short video mocking his performance. The midfielder was a key member of the Chelsea squad last season but the former Arsenal midfielder is struggling to live up to his former standard at Stamford bridge. Jose Mourinho needs to give other players like Ruben Loftus Cheek a chance to show what they can do.

Give Hazard a more central role

The Belgian international has publicly claimed he’d love to play in the number 10 role for the Blues and the Belgian has produced a master class performance in the few games he has played centrally this season. However, Mourinho has said Hazard is not his definition of a number 10 but the Portuguese might be very wrong. Hazard is the best player at Chelsea and the Blues will perform better if they get the Belgian on the ball as quick as possible and this means allowing him take a more central role in the team
