Chelsea will spend the next two weeks assessing their options in the January transfer window before deciding if they will sign a striker or not.
The Blues hierarchy are concerned over the performance and conduct of Diego Costa, Costa was an important member of the Blues first team last season, the Brazilian born striker scored 20 league goals for Chelsea last term as they went on to win the premier league and Capital One Cup double.
The striker had a strong relationship with Mourinho as the Portuguese solidly backed him during his bans but the relationship between the two is said to have broken down.
Costa was seen arguing with his manager in the club’s champions league game against Macabbi Tel Aviv last week and was also caught by a camera throwing his training bib on his manager in the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues are now considering their options and are looking at the availability of a top striker when the transfer window opens next month.
The Guardian reports that the West London club has four main targets which include current premier league top scorer Jamie Vardy, West Brom’s Saido Berahino, Shakhtar Donetsk Alex Teixera and Atletico Madrid Antoinne Greizmann.
The striker was left out of the starting xi that faced Tottenham Hotspur last weekend but he could return to lead the line against Bournemouth on Saturday evening.
