Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports.
The Old Trafford club are looking to improve their front line as the club’s current strikers struggle to score goals.
With the poor form of club captain Wayne Rooney, the Red Devils are interested in signing a world class striker and the club have moved to acquire the services of Cavani.
The former Napoli striker is reportedly unhappy at PSG due to the fact that he is usually played out of his favorite position in other to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Cavani feels he will perform better if he is allowed to lead the line but Laurent Blanc has refused to pick the Uruguayan ahead of Ibrahimovic.
However, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have made initial contact with the French club in regards to signing the striker at the end of the current season.
L’Equipe reports that Manchester United are in talks with the Ligue 1 champions to sign the striker but a move might be halted should Zlatan Ibrahimovic decides to leave Paris when his contract expires at the end of the current season.
Cavani’s future at PSG largely depends on Ibrahimovic’s decision and PSG’s Potential signings. The French club wants to resolve the big Swede’s future before they decide on what to do with Cavani.
Laurent Blanc is keen on improving his attacking options next summer and the French club’s No 1 target is Cristiano Ronaldo, but should the club target alternative options like Lewandowski who is an out and out striker, Cavani could be heading out of Paris.
