Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is ready to end his hiatus from football and is reportedly keen to join Chelsea when he returns back to London this week.
The former Tottenham Striker will return to England with the hope of getting a new club when the transfer window opens in January.
The Togolese striker was released by Spurs at the beginning of the season and has since then taken a break from competitive football, training all by himself in Africa.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly a keen admirer of the forward and was linked with signing the 31 year old last summer when the club was looking to replace club legend Didier Drogba.
Mourinho took Adebayor on loan when he was at Madrid in 2011 and the Portuguese is reportedly open to the idea of working with the striker again.
The Daily Mail report that Adebayor will return to London this week in search for a new club ahead of a possible January transfer move and the striker will be very happy to join Chelsea should the opportunity arise.
The striker scored a total of 96 goals in the Premier league between 2006 and 2015. and he is currently his country’s all time goal scorer.
