Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for Standard Liege goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Manager Jurken Klopp always had his reservations about current number one Simon Mignolet and has increasingly grown frustrated with the displays of the Belgian.
Though his kicking has been erratic at best and he continues to fail miserably in coming for crosses, his biggest blunder came in the game against Bordeaux as the Reds progressed into the last 32 of the Europa league, this was undoubtedly the bizarre manner of Bordeaux’s goal. Reds’ goalkeeper Simon Mignolet clearly deserves criticism for foolishly holding on to the ball for so long, “twenty seconds”. A top keeper should be well aware of the six-second rule.
Guillaume Hubert, 21, has caught the attention of several European heavyweights after a series of eye-catching displays for Liege this term.
The 21-year-old has 18 months to go on his current deal and Klopp sees him as a long term solution at Anfield. The youngster would cost somewhere between £500,000 and £1million should he desire a move to Liverpool but will however be loaned back to current club Liege for the reminder of the 2015/2016 season before moving to Merseyside next summer.Follow Football News Arena on Facebook and Twitter for the latest transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from across the major Leagues in Europe and around the World.
